The text attempts to define the specificity of the language of video, emphasizing that Woody and Steina Vasulka are the discoverers of the medium of video and the first to give video its own language. The task of the artist, according to the author, is to discover and develop the language of each medium in which he creates, working on all its levels, formal and syntactic, moving between language and perception.
