Correspondence between the American Embassy in Prague and the State Department

.

The six authentic documents provide information about the negotiations between Hollywood studios and the nationalized Czechoslovak industry, or rather, they provide a view of these negotiations from the point of view of the American side, of the cultural-promotional practices of the department in the socialist state, of the screenings organized for the Czech employees of the American embassy, and of the repression with which the Czech viewers of these performances were prosecuted by the Czech secret police. The documents come from the US National Archives in Washington.
