Analýza celkové situace v československé kinematografii po Únoru 1948, vyhlášení hlavní kulturně politické směrnice pro čs. kinematografii a nově natočené filmy, jež se snažili naplnit linii této směrnice. Dokladem toho je i dále rozebíraný film Václava Gajera Usměvavá zem.
