Czech Films in North America

The study maps the situation in the export of European and Czech films to the United States and their success in American distribution. It examines the release of Czech films in the art cinema network, in the so-called ethnic or regional cinemas in the interwar period. The author takes a closer look at the presentation of Czech films on American screens and at major festivals between 1966 and 2006. Overview and examples of the distribution of Czech films on video, DVD and television.
