"Moving Picture of Heavens." Immersion in the Planetarium Space Show

Alison Griffiths

The text documents the transformation of mere "looking" into a demand for immersive experience, using the history of the institution of the planetarium in the 20th century as an example. The author expresses a concern with the over-popularity of film, which, however, goes hand in hand with efforts to legitimize film and visuality in the field of cognition.
