USSR and East-central European countries at the Venice international film festival (1946-1953)

The author reveals the hitherto unexplored historical relations between the cinemas of the former socialist bloc countries and the countries of the West. He examines the presence and absence of the Soviet Union and the countries in its sphere of influence at the Venice Film Festival in 1946-1953.
