A Study of Stalinist Ideology through Film - Chapayev (1934)
By analysing the Soviet film Chapayev (1934) and focusing on specific manifestations of ideological assumptions in the image of the legendary commander, one of the leading representatives of the Annales school of French historiography shows what possibilities film as a historical source offers the historian.
