Toward a New Media Economics

Douglas Gomery

The author debunks some of the myths of the history of the American film industry and in doing so corrects the view of Hollywood as an industry held by some scholars. Based on these insights, he seeks to explore not only the financial side of the American film industry, such as Wall Street financing, but also the structure of the industry, corporate behavior, and performance.
