Visconti and Proust
The study discusses Luchino Visconti's relationship to the work of Marcel Proust, using specific examples from Visconti's films The Cheetah and Vague Stars of Ursa (or, Sandra) to demonstrate Visconti's fascination with the Proustian themes of decadence, the order of decline, decay and death, and the reflection of these themes in Visconti's work.
