Laugther as a Weapon. Imagination in Satire and Slovak Film in the 1950s

The article introduces the reader to one of the discussions that took place in the 1950s about the mission of satire in socialist society. It reveals the rhetoric and paradoxes of the time, giving specific examples of film and television production of the comedic and satirical genre.
