Film Business in the United States and Britain during the 1930s
This article examines the operation of the film industry in the US and the UK in the 1930s, focusing on the pattern of business relationships between firms in both countries. Particular emphasis is placed on the asymmetry in the functioning of British and American film producers, especially the inability of the British film industry to achieve long-term success in the US.
